What Could the Candidate's Cars Tell Us About Their Energy Policies?
Newsweek recently reported the current car count of both the presidential candidates. The tally stands with McCain at 13, and Obama at one. According to the report, Obama recently traded in the family gas guzzling Chrysler for a Ford Escape hybrid. Okay, that rings true with his "change" montra. Frankly, his decision to drive a hybrid probably had something to do with the public's preception of if the candidate can practice what he preaches. It also sets a good example, and that is what we would expect from our potential leader. McCain on the other hand drives a Caddy, and claims to have bought American all his life. So here we go again with this "I'm a bigger patriot than you" even at the expense of the environment. McCain also has some more energy efficient vehicles, but the point is to take a look at the bigger picture. You don't have to spend five seconds reading into either one of the candidates national energy policies, just take a look at how handle their own personal energy policies. Looks like McCain might need to look into buying a new home just for a place to keep his vehicles.
